Our first Bay Area Hub is at the David Brower Center - one of the Bay Area's most advanced green buildings and a true monument to sustainable, community driven action. Exceeding LEED Platinum building standards and developed in conjunction with the Berkeley community, The Brower Center provides an inspiring, accessible habitat for Hub Members to thrive.

Hub Berkeley incorporates a wide spectrum of sustainable design solutions to meet the dynamic needs of its Members - from Interface carpet, to Steelcase furniture, to custom made "petal" tables built by Hub Members. The space also provides a variety of work environments:

Collaborative Workspace - Custom-made “petal” tables allow for organic site lines and easy access for talking with members. The tables are also designed to be mobile for events.

Kitchen/Cafe - Features an espresso machine, coffee/tea air pots, filtered water, sink, oven, cabinets, refrigerators, and sponsored beverages and foods. Mobile tables in the café supply additional counter space. Ideal location for chatting with members or meeting with groups. The kitchen transforms into a bar/catering space for events.

Lounge - A space for informal conversations and design sessions. Walls serve as writeable surfaces, while the low shelves showcase products and materials created by Hub Members. Comfy furniture is easily moved around to fit any arrangement.

Window Workbar - Offers several window-facing workspaces with wide-screen monitors. Perfect workspace for those who need to work without distraction.

Privacy Booths - Offer soundproof rooms for private chats, phone conversations and loud skype calls. The booths hold 2-3 people and have a teleconference line, a small tabletop, and writeable glass surfaces.

Away Room - A work in progress that will not be fully defined until Hub Members come to a collaborative solution. Is it a library, Asian tea room, meeting space, quiet work area, or pingpong palace…? Give us your ideas!
